La Bienal de Gaza,
travelling exhibition

" In times of monolithic narratives, the Gaza Biennale emerges as an act of necessary disruption. In the face of a dominant discourse that reduces Gaza to numbers and rubble, the Valencia Pavilion —one of the first in Europe within this decentralized biennale, which aims to showcase works produced in Gaza on an international stage— stands as a gesture of resistance, a bridge between fractured territories and an audience still capable of attentive seeing.
Organized by The GRAPA (Gallery of Rebellious Artists and Political Art), the pavilion opened to the public on June 20, 2025, and is structured in two exhibition chapters. The first, a group exhibition running until August 30, brings together works by Jehad Jarbou, Liza Madi, Aya Juha, Hazem Al-Zomor, Ahmad Al-Adawi, and Osama Hussein. This show is curated by Larissa-Diana Fuhrmann, Salma Alhakim, and Verónica Revuelta Garrido. The second chapter, from September 1 to 30, is dedicated to a solo exhibition by artist Hamada El Kept."

| Osama Hussen, born in Khan Younis, 1997. He is a self-taught artist whose practice has been shaped by the influence of fellow artists. Working primarily in drawing, his work centers on life in Gaza, resistance, and Palestinian identity. With remarkable skill, he explores the human figure—often depicted as bearing the weight of “the city” itself. His work has been featured in numerous group exhibitions beyond Gaza, including in Bahrain, Italy, Mexico, and the United States. |
